Alex Cancino

Alex has been a frequent player on the DJ scene since 2018. Alex has spinned in Australia, Mexico, and Singapore in the house and techno scene. Alex’s music vision shares techno, electronic, and acid genres. Alex likes to combine elements of tribal beats, dark melodic progressions, and hypnotic basslines to craft sets that captivate audiences from start to finish.

Alex’s story begins in Mexico where he was first exposed to the tribal, melodic house from Tulum in Zamna. Years later Alex moved to Paris where he began experimenting with electronic and techno music from the French and German capitals respectively. His years across Berlin, the techno capital, educated him on the technicalities of sound design, mixing precision, and the importance of balancing experimental tones with crowd-pleasing energy.

His techno style is heavily influenced by fast peak/driving techno from the likes of Amelie Lens, A*S*Y*S, and Klangkuentsler. Finally, he moved to Australia where he officially started DJing. Intent on pursuing a career in Music Production, Alex began combining different genres to create genre-blurring tracks that push the boundaries of electronic, techno, and house music. He also leveraged his career and experience at Google to experiment with the role of technology and AI in music. His education in music continues to guide his work: not only has it had a big impact on how he hears sound, but it also informs the creative process, enabling him to blend various sonic textures while still maintaining a cohesive narrative within his sets.
